How CNC machine tools work

CNC machine tool is a machine tool that completes processing through computer numerical control. Compared with traditional machine tools, CNC machine tools have the advantages of high precision, good repeatability, high production efficiency, and high processing complexity. Its working principle can be summarized into the following steps:
1. CAD drawing production.
First, CAD drawings need to be produced, that is, the three-dimensional model to be processed is drawn through computer design software and saved in the computer. This step determines the shape and size of the process and is very important for the subsequent processing of the workpiece.
2. CAM program programming.
After the CAD drawings are produced, CAM program programming is required. Compared with traditional machine tools, the programs of CNC machine tools are written by computers and controlled by computers. The purpose of writing CAM programs is to convert CAD drawings into machine tool language, that is, to convert the relevant information of CAD drawings into machine tool operating procedures to guide machine tool processing.
3. Upload the operating program.
After the CAM program is written, it needs to be uploaded to the controller of the CNC machine tool. This step can be performed through a USB interface or a storage medium such as a memory card. After uploading the operating program, the processing operation can be performed through the controller.
4. Machine tool processing.
Once the CAM program is uploaded, the CNC machine tool can start processing. After the machine tool operator sets the relevant parameters for machine tool operation, the machine tool begins to process the workpiece according to the instructions in the CAM program.
5. Detection and correction.
During machine tool processing, the workpiece needs to be inspected. Generally speaking, machine tools are equipped with specific detection devices that are responsible for detecting whether the shape and size of the workpiece meet the requirements. If errors are found, corrections need to be made to ensure that the processing effect meets the requirements.
With the continuous advancement of science and technology and the continuous development of machine tool technology, CNC machine tools are gradually replacing traditional machine tools and have become important processing equipment in today's advanced production and manufacturing fields.
