How to operate CNC lathe correctly?
2024-03-27 05:48:43

The correct operation of CNC lathes is the key to ensuring processing accuracy, improving work efficiency and ensuring the normal operation of equipment. The following are some basic operating steps and precautions for CNC lathes:

1. Preparation before starting up

Check whether the lubricating oil of the CNC lathe is sufficient and whether the cooling is sufficient. If any shortage is found, it should be replenished in time.

Check the CNC lathe guide rails and main sliding surfaces. If there are obstacles, tools, iron filings, debris, etc., they must be cleaned, wiped clean, and oiled.

2. Power-on operation

Turn on the main electrical switch on the electrical cabinet of the CNC lathe.

Start the CNC machine.

Manually return to the CNC lathe reference point. Return first to the +X direction, then to the +Z direction.

3. Tool installation and tool setting

The turning tool installed on the CNC lathe should not be extended too long. The turning tool gasket should be flat and the width should be consistent with the width of the bottom surface of the turning tool.

When performing tool setting operations on CNC lathes, appropriate spindle speed, back tool engagement amount and feed speed should be selected.

4. Program writing and running

Turn the CNC lathe operating mode selection switch to the program editing position, press the relevant buttons, enter the new program number, and then perform editing.

Before the CNC lathe automatically runs the program, the program must be carefully checked to ensure the correctness of the program. During operation, if a problem occurs, press the reset button or emergency stop button in time.

5. Processing process

When trial cutting on a CNC lathe, the rapid override switch must be in a lower gear.

After modifying the CNC lathe program, carefully check the modified parts.

The machine tool must be started only after confirming that the CNC lathe workpiece is clamped. It is strictly prohibited to measure or touch the workpiece while the workpiece is rotating.

6. Shutdown and Cleanup

After the CNC lathe is finished processing, the tool holder should be parked in a tool change position away from the workpiece.

Turn off the main electrical switch of the CNC lathe.

Clean machine tools and keep work areas tidy.

7. Safety precautions

Please wear work clothes and safety shoes when working on a CNC lathe. It is prohibited to operate the machine tool with gloves.

While the CNC lathe is in operation, it is strictly prohibited to leave the work station to do anything unrelated to the operation.

CNC lathes should work on designated machine tools and computers. Machine tool equipment, tools or electrical switches must not be tampered with without permission.

If a certain task requires multiple people to complete it together, attention should be paid to coordination among them.

In short, the correct operation of a CNC lathe involves many aspects such as pre-start preparation, start-up operation, tool installation and tool setting, program writing and operation, processing process, shutdown and cleaning, and safety precautions. Operators should strictly follow the procedures to ensure processing quality and equipment safety.
